about 6th And detroit
6th and Detroit believes home is a feeling that we bring to the spaces we inhabit. Named after the intersection of founder Michelle Qazi’s first apartment in Los Angeles, the brand began as an Etsy shop of Michelle’s thoughtfully curated vintage finds. Her discriminating eye and unique sense of style create the foundation of 6th And Detroit’s signature every-era-all-together aesthetic that quickly developed an enthusiastic and dedicated social media following. In 2016, 6th and Detroit opened its first brick and mortar location in the East Village Arts District of Long Beach, California, serving as a destination retail stop for designers and vintage lovers in Southern California. Merchandised with visually appealing vignettes, 6th And Detroit is at once both aspirational and accessible, providing visitors with design inspiration and character-filled pieces to make home their own.

About michelle
Michelle Qazi discovered her love for vintage home decor as a college graduate looking to furnish her first apartment. Scouring flea markets, estate sales and vintage stores, she turned the tiny space located at 6th Street and Detroit Avenue in Los Angeles into home, all while developing a keen eye for spotting quality design and perfecting the art of mixing eras and decor styles into one that’s uniquely her own.
With the success of 6th And Detroit, Michelle has expanded her services into rentals, staging, Airbnb consulting, interior design and styling. Both of her homes in Long Beach and Seattle are a reflection of the brand and have been featured on Design Sponge, The Jungalow, Houzz and Apartment Therapy.
Brand and product partnerships continue to be a growing area for Michelle and 6th And Detroit. In 2018, she helped Dunn Edwards launch their Color of the Year and ventured into her first 6th And Detroit branded items: a custom scented candle with Mr. B’s Necessities and Turkish towels featuring original designs with House No.23.
Michelle is a self-taught interior designer and lover of the outdoors. Originally from Laguna Niguel, California, she and her family lived in Long Beach for 10 years before embarking on a 3-year adventure in Seattle, where she was able to experience the natural beauty and amazing vintage of the Pacific Northwest. Now back in Southern California, Michelle is focused on building the 6th and Detroit brand both in the shop and beyond.
