Glory Days
For the past couple of months on social media, I've been announcing my family's upcoming move to Seattle, WA. We have a great opportunity up there and honestly, it's not a bad place to relocate. Not to mention a fantastic reason to spread 6th+D's wings to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
As soon as we made the big decision to move, we had to have an epic send off. My birthday was around this time and it was a great excuse to gussy up The Rancho and have one of our famous house parties.
We had amazing food by my dear friend Shirley's Catering, party drinks and there was not 1...., not 2, but FOUR DJ's in full effect throughout the night. We danced, laughed and celebrated just the way we always do. Only this time, there was a feeling of finality to the night. Our people could feel it too. We were celebrating the beginning of something new. At the same time, no one wanted to admit, that we were saying goodbye to a part of our lives that would be filed under "Glory Days".
Long Beach is where our lives started. Where we planted our hearts. We built our family here. Yet, what I've discovered in these past few months is that wherever Husband, Hammer and Heavy D are - that's where my real home is. While Long Beach has a big piece of our history, Seattle has a part of our future. And for that, we are excited.
The shop is staying open and will continue to give me a reason to come back to Long Beach (and escape all the rain that people talk about). I am excited to bring 6th And Detroit to Seattle, WA. From the feedback that I've received, Seattle is ready to see how 6th And Detroit will come into play. I'm so excited to see how this will pan out in the near future.

The 6th and Detroit Team, Analisa, Casey, Michelle, Kendra and Kim. Always bringing Happy to the Hour in downtown LBC.
Meanwhile, the amazing 6th And Detroit Dream Team, will be handling the day to day at the shop. Keeping the merchandise styled out, our shop windows on point and posting my incredible finds on Instagram - you don't want to miss an opportunity to say hi if you're in downtown LBC, they are simply the best.
Stay cool, Long Beach. I'll be back in a flash. xo
